THE NATURE OF THE CHURCH Where do we get our idea of what the Church is to be ? Do we get our views from what unbelievers expect of us ? Do we get our ideas from what various religious commentators suggest ? Is our concepts of what the Church is to be shaped by traditions ? Or do we get our understanding of the Church from what God says? Whatever view we have in regard to the Church will shape how we relate to the present world. We must be sure that the traditional views that we have are held are really those views which God sets forth. " Therefore brethren stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have taught, whether by word or by our epistle. " 11 Thessalonians 2:15 |
